about your instructors

I am from the UK and have many years driving experience on the diverse roads and weather  conditions that can entail. I have held my driving licence for 36 years. Over this time, I have gained licences operating all types of vehicles from forklifts to motorcycles, cars, and light rigid to heavy rigid trucks.  

As a young man I had many years experiences as a voluntary instructor in a youth organisation. My driving force was knowing I was making a difference to the lives of young people. Watching them grow and develop, and knowing that I had helped them along the way, was the most rewarding part.

I have worked for many years in the Engineering industry where I developed a number of skills including a strong focus on safety and took great pride in apprentice training and development. Despite holding a variety of roles within this organisation, the aspect that I enjoyed the most was training others.  

I am married and the proud father of 3 kids. I initially started training family and friends to drive as it was something I found very rewarding, it inspired me to become a qualified driving instructor.

I am a friendly, patient, polite, punctual and easy-going person.  

WA Department of Transport tested and accredited instructor and holds a Cert IV in Transport and Logistics (Driving Instruction). A Keys2drive professional accredited instructor with police and working with children clearance.   

Hello my name is Katie. My husband, three children and I have been in Perth WA for 18 years, emigrating from the UK. Early on, I worked as a “temp” in Murdoch and Curtin business schools, before starting my career in Real Estate. I started at the bottom and worked my way up to achieve a Diploma of Property. 

My success as a driving instructor is due to my ability to make you feel calm. I am super patient and have a friendly personality, encouraging you to achieve by explaining the steps to get you there. 

Being comfortable with an instructor is the most important part, that connection is what is needed for you to take the steps forward. I can relate to individuals new to WA as I was once in their shoes. I’ve met and worked with all nationalities over the years and enjoy helping others gain their licence and freedom. There’s nothing like having a passion for what you do and I love being a driving instructor.

 I enjoy seeing others thrive, to achieve their goal of getting their licence and being a safe driver, it is just the best. I enjoy them seeking my advice and knowing that you’ve been right there with them is just amazing. The look of happiness on the face of someone that’s just passed their driving test is the ultimate. 

I’ve been driving for 29 years both manual and automatic. I am able to drive buses and also motorcycles. Helping learners become responsible drivers is my main priority, by giving them the knowledge and techniques to become this. Knowing you’ve achieved this goal for them is totally GOLD!
